Tea Cosy and a Family Day

Hello to you.
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend?
Here is my first attempt at a tea cosy...

I wanted to use another knitted tutorial here.
But in the end decided I wasn't confident enough to pick up the knitting needles again.
I will do sometime though.

My daughter had a 'Teacher Training Day' on Friday, so we all had a lovely family day out at Bodnant Garden. It's a National Trust property - you can have a look at more professional photos here.
Here are a few photos from our trip...

Here is the famous Laburnum Arch. Unfortunately it was just about finished but still pretty spectacular.
The rhododendrons had made a beautiful pink carpet of petals.
Beautiful natural pond.
The house is maaassssiiivvveeee!

The lily terrace was in full bloom.
A lovely seat.
Cascading down the wall.
So tall!
Amazing old trees.
Pretty peony
Fern gully.
Beautiful rose garden, the scent was amazing.
I took so many photos but spared you most of them! Tee Hee!

I didn't come home empty handed! My lovely partner bought me a rose.
This is it in full bloom in the rose garden in Bodnant...
and here is mine freshly planted today.

Here are a few more photos from the garden today...
Pea flowers.
The mystery plant is now flowering, anyone know what it is?
One tall Foxglove.

Through the allium.

Thank you all for your lovely comments on the last post!
Hope your weekend has been good one?
This is my 50th post, it wouldn't be the same without all you lovely people.
Till next time.
xx

Red and White

Hello, Hello.
Hope you're all having a lovely week?
Thank you so much for visiting me and thank you to all that commented, I hope I got back to you all in one way or another...
Really appreciated!
So it's not been hugely busy this week.
I'm still hooking away at my hexagon blanket.
To give me a little break I gave myself a quick and fun project...

Here it is! A little pleasure to make.
I was so excited to photograph it in the grass.
Thought it looked at home. My Mum said I ought to make a fairy to sit on it.

So, carrying on with the red and white theme...
This arrived for me in the post today - my first indulgence in ages! And my first Cath Kidston bag.
It was in the sale :)
Funny how I have to justify things I have... if it was for my daughter I wouldn't!
Hope you're having a wonderful week so far.
xx

Raindrops on Roses

Hello, Hello

Hope everyone has been having a lovely weekend? Sunday already, the week has just flown by.
It's been quite busy here with one thing and another, have had some crafty time too though.
Let me introduce you to Foxy Loxy...
New member of the magnet gang.
My wool order arrived on Wednesday so I've picked up where I left off with my hexagon blanket.
It's coming on well and feels super soft.

I've been sewing peg bags for the craft sale, I used some vintage fabric on this one.
The weather's been a bit changeable here this week, but between showers I've managed to get some garden time...
My first crop, it feels so good to have grown something yourself.

Plenty more where that came from!
Here are some flowers that have gone pop this week. Flag Iris.

Pretty pink aquilegia found amongst the ferns.

Not quite popped yet but on its way, Allium.
Finally, raindrops on roses...

I cant get enough of these roses, not only are they beautiful but the smell is divine.
Thank you for visiting me.
xx

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Hello to you...
How's your week been so far?
Good I hope?
It's been quite a quiet week here so far.
Over the last few evenings I've made some felt magnets for the craft sale.
I enjoyed doing some hand stitching for a change.
I enjoyed stitching up the kitsch deer, swallow and apple.
I think the apple has to be my favourite.
We've had some lovely warm weather over the past few days.
I've been out in garden a lot.

The poppies have gone pop!

Our other Poppy was interested in the contents of the watering can.

This is a plant my Mum gave me and neither of us can remember what its called any ideas?

Our beautiful roses are in bloom and smell wonderful.

Lovely full flower beds.

Hope the week's been passing by nicely.

Blue Bird and Weekend Wanderings

Hello to you...
Well, it's been a busy weekend...
Had a lovely Fathers Day, today making my Daddy lunch and having a good laugh.
I hope you'll enjoy some photos from this weekend.
The crochet owl now has a friend, blue bird.

Chives in full bloom.

Pretty pink Peony.

Alliums (again)

Cheeky snail.

Dusty sunning himself.

Bees.

The Ceanothus is in full blue bloom.

The bees love it.

It was literally buzzing while photographing it.

My best friend and I took a trip to Leeds.
I was so pleased to pick up a Cath Kidston teapot in the sale.

I think it might need a tea cosy...I must get myself over to ladybirddiaries to use her fab tutorial.
Hope that everyone has a lovely week, whatever you're doing.
