Summer Lovin

Hello.
Hope you're all enjoying a nice weekend?
I thought I'd share a few photos of the garden.
The rain has arrived today, much needed by the garden.
Busy bumble bee!

Twisty bud.

My daughter's red sunflower in the sunshine.

Hydrangea Annabelle.

Sweet peas!

Wildflower mix.

Sunflower again.

Nearly ready to come out.

Our tallest sunflower must be over 7ft now!

My latest creation ready for cooler weather...not sure if it might look a bit tea cosyish!
Thank you for your lovely comments on the last post, I did love the yarn bombing.

Saltburn-by-the-Sea Yarn bombing

Hello to you.
Hope you're all well?
I've been away over the last few days, we went up to North Yorkshire to visit my Grandad.
It's a long journey but thankfully my daughter was quiet all the way there and back...
We had to check on her a few times as we thought she was asleep!

Now...have you heard of yarn bombing?
Well, I hadn't until recently. Basically in this case it's a bunch of mystery knitters and crocheters who decorate public areas with wonderful work. On a recent Google image search I came across the yarn bombings in Saltburn-by-the-sea and knowing it was 10mins up the coast from my Grandads we all had to have a look-see...
They truly have done an amazing job! In this case they had yarn bombed the pier with a costal theme.
Not only was the work beautiful but it was full of great ideas too!

I'm definitely going to give this jelly fish a go!

I loved these donkeys...check out the names!

Surfing in the background.

Got to have fish and chips at the seaside.

So cute!

I hope you'll agree some truly amazing work. I got a little snap happy but hope you enjoyed browsing through.
Have any of you ever yarn bombed?
I'm very tempted to give it a go.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments on the last post.

Tales from the Riverbank

 Hello to you.
Hope you're all well?
A huge welcome to my newest followers.
I've been enjoying hooking these old hangers pretty.

The sun has been shining here in Wales. We are still enjoying the heat wave.
My partner and I made the most of our last day together before my daughter broke up from school.
We found a shady spot by the river...

With a lovely view of the bridge.

We found a twisty tree to make camp under.

A view of the mountains.

Nature's parasol.

Blue skies and shallow waters.

Cooling off with a quick paddle...check out the top knot shadow!

My partner following the fishes!
It really was wonderful spending some quality time together, enjoying the sun and quiet surroundings.
My lovely neighbour very kindly gave us some cherries from her tree.

I couldn't let you go without showing you some photos of the garden!
My first sunflower - I've never managed to grow them from seed before.
They're flourishing this year!

I think a sun flower just screams summer.
One of the sunflowers must be 7ft tall, towering above the garden.
Monarda adding much needed colour.

Sweet Pea Cuparni

Geum

Not sure what this is- really ought to keep my plant labels!

Or this!

One of my daughter's courgettes. She's done very well this year with her bumper harvest.
I hope you have a wonderful week.
Thank you so much for the lovely comments on the last post.

Whats the Story Morning Glory?

Hello to you.
Just a quick post today.
I wanted to share with you some of the flowers that are blooming in the garden this week.

I found this little beauty - a dwarf morning glory, it must have come from one of my butterfly mix seed packets.

Giant Allium

Echinacea

Artichokes.

Yellow pretty... It's a mystery to me...! Anyone have any idea what it is?

 Wild Red Poppy.
Cosmos grown from seed.
I am enjoying seeing everything growing.
Hoping your outside space is blooming.
